GIVING

Time & Talents

Time & Talents

Time is a precious commodity in today’s fast-paced society.  There are many demands on our time and it makes it even more special when it is spent as a thank offering to God.  Each one of us has been given unique talents and should use them to the best of our abilities.

“We all have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us… if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach, if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously, if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully” (Romans 12:6-8).

We have many opportunities to serve and support the ministries of Living Word with the gift of time and talents; including worship prep, sanctuary set-up and cleaning, teaching Sunday School, bringing Sunday refreshments, hosting a Bible Study, and lending a helping hand when a need arises.  Another important way to use the gift of time (and one that is often overlooked) is in prayer; for individuals, for our nation, for our church, and the Christian Church at large.

Prayers for our ministry at Living Word Lutheran Church are much appreciated!

Treasure

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful steward of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God.  If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ.  To Him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen” (1 Peter 4:10-11).

“…see that you also excel in this grace of giving” (2 Corinthians 8: 7b)

“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8)

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3.16)

“Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops” (Proverbs 3:9)

“Let them sacrifice thank offerings and tell of His works with songs of joy” (Psalms 107:22)

Working hand in hand with the gifts of Time and Talent is the gift of Treasure.  Motivated by God’s love for us, we encourage our members to excel in the grace of giving to support the gospel ministry of Living Word Lutheran Church, and the Wisconsin Synod.

Funds donated are used for day-to-day operations of the church, staff salaries and benefits, to cover ministry financial needs, and to support local and global mission efforts.  Those desiring to contribute to our ministry are humbly invited to do so, but are under no obligation.
Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7)

Donations may be made in-person or online, via the online giving platform Tithe.ly.
